Created by Eden Arts, The Winter Droving has become one of Cumbria’s iconic cultural events seeing 20k+ attend annually. The event is a festival of food, culture, contemporary art set around the theme of the tradition of Droving animals. In 2018 the event takes place over two days, the first an enchanted evening at the lake at Ullswater followed by the day in Penrith.

Street entertainment, live bands, slightly stranger things like a fancy dress for dogs competition and the and the clearly ‘its a knockout’ inspired Drover’s Cup games; all accompanied by the biggest market in Cumbria; and topped off by a magical torch parade through the town leading to a free gig on the mainstage form a headline act.
