A day of readings and celebrations by local dignitiaries around York to recognise  the changes of the county boundaries that occcured in 1970. Occurs yearly in different venues in Yorkshire on  August the 1st . This day celebrates the Battle of Minden. Soldiers picked white roses as a tribute to fallen commrades.
